The AirPod

picture-9

I’m sorry but I think this thing is freakin adorable. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you the AirPod, a car that runs on compressed air! It seats three people (granted one must face backward but whatever). The AirPodtops out at about 40 mph and it has a range of 130 miles before it needs a refill. Which I realize isn’t great but the concept is pretty cool nonetheless.

Refilling The AirPod can be quick  n easy (if you happen to have an aircar fueling station nearby) or slow n tedious (if you have to charge using an inexpensive home compressor.) But these cars are really great for the environment. The power used to compress the air is pure-coal-fired power but even so the AirPod is much much cleaner than gasoline.

Guyana Design

picture-11

Found this interesting bit over at aNEW designs (thanks danny). William Gordon just had an article published on Core77. The article is titled, “One Factory, One Forest: Design, Ecology and Micro-Economic Development in Guyana” explains about William’s designs and having them produced in Guyana. The article explores the process of a design, materials and production in Guyana. To read the full article go to this link at Core77.
